Ace Curriculum Review: Not for Us

Visitor ACE Curriculum Review: We used ACE for 3 months, for grade K.

This curriculum did not work for us. The phonics was so confusing to to my daughter. ACE K phonics introduces a letter and each sound that goes with that letter with a corresponding symbol. ig. the letter 'A' says 'ah' as in apple, 'ay' as in ape and 'augh' as in art.

The first sound has an curve over the letter A. The second a straight line. The third a dot. The symbols confused her thoroughly. We were in tears, both of us. Way too much busy work in writing and math. Math advanced too quickly.

Other homeschool moms kept telling me how much they loved Kindergarten. We were not.
I did like the character stories and bible stories as did my dd.

That is as far as our experience goes. I have heard other stories of how ACE has worked really well... unfortunately not for us.
