Bob Jones University K5 Beginnings and Bible

Visitor Review: I switched over to Bob Jones University DVD's to save time. So far I haven't found it to be a time saver. There is far too much unnecessary prep work and it's confusing. There are too many books to make copies from. I have spent over 6 hours just preparing for the first 25 lessons in Beginnings.

Each lesson is about an hour. The child only completes two very shallow worksheets in that hour's time. The video is very cute but most of the teaching time is a waste.

I am finding that it slows down the child's learning.

The science and social study lessons, that are incorporated in Beginnings, are lacking in depth. My child learns far more from me simply reading books from the library.

The Bible DVD's are beyond annoying. The teacher's head bobbles the entire time and she is too perky. It is goofy and outdated.

I was so excited for my child to learn hymns. Unfortunately, the songs are sung in such a high annoying pitch. It is too bad that they didn't use children's voices for the music.

I do not recommend BJU.
