Elementary Saxon Math Curriculum

by Jennifer Allen
(San Antonio, TX)

Visitor Review: I used the Saxon Math curriculum for several years and my kids did ok but it seems like they were not being challenged enough. They repeated extremely simple problems over and over that seemed like busy work to me. I also felt like it did not take them very long to complete the assignment each day.

After feeling like they were not learning enough from Saxon Math, I switched the younger children to Horizons Math this year and am overall much happier.

The older children are still in Saxon which seems to be better after about 6th grade. I will probably return the younger kids to Saxon after they are done with the Horizons books, but for now this works much better for our family.
