K12 Review: Insane Work Load

Visitor K12 Review: This was my first year homeschooling. K12 was appealing to me because it was free, you got a computer and all the lessons was planned out for you. After starting the program I quickly learned the catch.

You are required to do 6 hours of work a day! Well, the work load was so intensive especially when you add on TAKS studying and live computer sessions with quizzes at the end, some days we were working till 5 or 6.

We are projected to end all course work by the end of Aug, ridiculous. Yes it's self-paced if you want to speed forward, but don't dare fall behind!

My daughter has worked so hard yet we can never seem to keep up. The Curriculum is in-depth and easy to follow, it's just waaaaaaayyyyy to much work. I regret choosing this curriculum.

Yes, the curriculum is challenging, but it is also adaptive, so I don't know why people are saying it is too hard. A challenge is a good thing.

I live in an area with very low scores on national testing, but k-12 has very high scores, because they challenge without overwhelming.

They give the parent a lot of freedom to personalize the curriculum to the students individual needs, and allow them to quickly move through what the child finds easy, or has already mastered, keeping school from being monotonous.
