Saxon Math 2-6/7 Review

by Laurie Popovich
(North Carolina)

Visitor Saxon Math Review: We are a homeschool family in North Carolina. I used Saxon with our oldest when we first began homeschooling. It was not a fruitful experience for us, but as a new homeschooler I did what others highly recommended.

It wasn't until 4 years into our Saxon experience that I realized it wasn't working for us. I later learned that there are several different learning styles and while Saxon is a good curriculum it wasn't the learning style that reflected our daughter's learning style; therefore, it wasn't helping her excel in math.

In fact, she strongly disliked math and that is not what I wanted for her. If you have a visual or a kinesthetic learner, Saxon might prove to be a struggle. My encouragement? Find your child's learning style and watch them grow and feel accomplished rather than frustrated; leaving you both stressed.
