Sonlight Curriculum Review: Sonlight Brightens our Home with New Adventures!

Visitor Sonlight Curriculum Review: This is our second year homeschooling. After mulling through all of the material available, we chose Sonlight.

Last year, we used Core 1 and 2. This year: Core 2 and 3. A lot of people say we're crazy to cover two cores every year...but, it helps my Son (in Core 3) maintain his position as oldest in the house and keeps my middle child (dreamy daughter) comfortable in not being pushed to hard (with Core 2).

We don't always cover everything every day. I love the way the lesson plans are written and I love that I can change, move forward or backward on any given moment.

I also love the fact that the writers admitted that they did not do everything...that let me off the hook, too!

Why do we like it? We love the adventures we have taken around the world in the books they have provided. We also love the fact that they provide both sides of the coin...meaning evolution and creationism. This gives me an opportunity to raise my children with knowledge regarding both, yet providing the appropriate guidance.

The music/cds are great, too! I have always believed that you teach children through song and play! What a great way to learn about Geography and Grammar...than through singing about them! Even our third child, now 4, runs around the house singing about the 7 continents and 4 oceans!
