Visitor Review: I used Handwriting Without Tears extensively for 12 years. I taught special education for 33 years, and HWT offered a smooth transition from manuscript (printing) to cursive.

No one can go wrong investing in this program, especially if your child has fine motor weaknesses or needs addition support learning to write letters and numbers. Jan Olsen designed a wonderful product! I have recommended it to other home school families.

I used Handwriting Without Tears from 2 to 4 year old children,their grandparents and parents. It was a great experience to see everyone learning, exploring and development of fine motor skills and how much easy it made the transition to holding the pencil and then to writing. Handwriting without tears also gave children the idea of being straight, not straight (curved), up and down. It's very satisfying to see the improvement not only in children but in the adults as well you help their children to learn.

We are currently using Handwriting without tears. I have two children 7 & 8 yrs. old.

My 8yr old son, has special needs and his handwriting is horrible most days but therapist started to use this program with him last year and I have continued it.

He should be on to cursive by now but we are still practicing manuscript/printing. He likes the book and doesn't get frustrated. My daughter the 7yr old has excellent handwriting and she just starting 2nd grade but is advanced in a lot of her subjects. I started her in the first book of cursive writing and she loves it . I would advise this program for children with needs or not.. Here in NYC they have taken out handwriting/cursive learning from all programs, something even public school kids can use to practice at home.

Everything in the program starts with the "Magic C"... Give it a try.
